Ophiuchus - The Truth Behind the New Sign

!9#: Ophiuchus - The Truth Behind the New Sign

Recent news regarding the alignment of the stars announced by the Minnesota Planetarium Society had those that follow the stars scrambling to find as much information regarding the new Zodiac sign- Ophiuchus as they could. If you were a Capricorn or Sagittarius, you just may have been put under the new sign- Ophiuchus. And, for all other signs, well, you just might have been shifted into another of the familiar Zodiac signs. However, since the release of the news, many experts have been involved, and the new findings are that signs are still in tact and there is no new introduction of a sign.

The Minnesota Planetarium Society based its findings on the alignment of the stars, which due to the Moon's gravitational pull on the Earth had pushed the stars by about a month. The release of the news was not meant to be a hoax. It was, however, a result of misinformed people who were unaware of Tropical and Sidereal astrology. Both Tropical and Sidereal astrology are used in the Western and Eastern worlds. And, both are what are signs are based on.

Tropical Zodiac is not based on the position of the stars, but the season in the year. Stars are of significance in our horoscope readings, but they will not influence the change of our Zodiac signs.

Rick Levine, and expert astrologer, states that the new sign, Ophiuchus is a constellation and has nothing whatsoever to do with Astrology. Rick goes on to state that with every year there are four seasons. Within a season, there is a beginning, a middle and an end- making each season having their own cycle and which accounts for our present day signs.

Astrology is based on seasons. It is the relationship between the seasons and the planets (which are also known as aspects) that astrology is based on. The Zodiac signs are divided equally and based on day and night proportions experienced throughout the year. Each of us possesses traits of our sign. Aries for instance that was born in the spring will show characteristics of high energy and optimism.

Ophichus was not a new constellation, it has been here since Ancient Babylonians making 13 constellations. However, it was not included in the Zodiac signs then and will not be now. So, for all those star followers, relax, your sign is still the same.
